Hey Guys. My BR 195 Classic is STILL in the shop. They have taken from June 2nd til today to de-winterize it. When I called in back in June, I asked them to check the bellows and the throttle cable (it seems like there was a bunch of slack in it). They called today and reported that he de-winterizing was done and that I needed new bellows ($1500) and a carb rebuild ($450). I called a place across the river and they quoted me $700 for the bellows/u-joint/throttle cable job but didn't do carbs. I thought I'd order a rebuilt carb online ($250) and install it myself. I'm not what you would call a mechanic and while rebuilding is out of my wheelhouse, I think I could replace one.

Anyone know what the part number is for that carb? Any ideas for the best online source for a rebuilt one?

Thanks gang.

Oh yeah, one other question...

When the guys called today, they gave me a $250.00 balance. They claimed that the de-winterization is $150 and it was $100 to check the bellows and the throttle cable.

Does that sound right? Especially given that I'm an off-season storage customer, I would have thought that checking the bellows and the cable would have been included in the de-winterizing job. What do y'all think?

I would never doubt your madness, chief.

No trailer. When I bought the boat, for some reason, they couldn't register the trailer so they knocked off 600 bux. Haven't needed one yet.

Why, sir?

So, I'm actually having current mechanic drop me into the river (launch about 1/4 mile away - prepaid) and driving it across the river to another marina that quoted me 1/3 to change Bellows/u-joint/throttle cable.

I just hope I don't sink.

Got the boat over to the new marina. The thing barley ran. Carb is in bad shape. New guys said they don't screw with carburetors. Hmm... Anyway, I want to order a rebuilt one from Flying fish and see if I can have it sent to the new guys and have them just swap them out.

Any ideas on a part number? It turns out it's a 2005 unlike what I said in the thread heading.

Thanks guys.

I ordered a rebuilt carb for my 2007 3.0 TKS from Flying Fish and there carb was a exact match. To be honest the carb is a pretty simple design, in hindsight I think I would have tried to rebuild it myself after opening up the lid on the old one.

It is a pretty easy swap out also if you wanted to try it yourself. Four nuts, some linkage and a wire harness to the TKS module.

I can't remember which number I ordered, but why don't you call and just talk to them, I'm sure they can help you figure out which one you need.

I'll see if I can dig up my receipt and get back to you if I can.

Mike
