Hey so this year my aater pressure is really low and now the pump is surging on and off while the tap is open.

How to adjust? Theres not an accumulator on a 2655 right? Seems like theres a screw you turn for pressure or maybe try to bleed air at the screen at pump?

Sounds like you have a plugging filter in the line. Start with the mesh strainer before the pump then if you have other in line filters, Chang them out too.

Take the tank full cap off and see if the problem goes away. If the problem goes away then it must be the tank vent is clogged.

Check the hose connections, the surging sounds like there is air being introduced into the system. Happened to me. My .02

I don't understand how the system pressurizes if it doesn't have an accumulator tank..

Thanks i will try these things

The pump builds pressure to, say, 20psi, then a pressure switch turns the motor off locking the water pressure in the system. Simple so far. Plumbed like that is just fine but the pump will cycle from time to time as pressure weeps off to who knows where. I doesn't bother me, but it does others. The Accumulator acts like a shock absorber because it's filled with pressurized air and maybe a bit of water. They were brought into household codes to prevent "water hammers", surging water slamming into closed valves and fittings causing general mayhem.

Wouldnt you think when you crack open the filler cap it would lose that pressure? From what I remember it doesnt.. this when I decided i dont need to understand this boat plumbing

We had the same problem last year. It turned out to be the little mesh screen right on the outlet of the faucet. Take it off, clean it out and see if things improve. Not much to lose giving it a try and it is a quick and easy job.

Yup... this. I just went through all of this. Started with a new tank vent ... mine was completely plugged. Replaced the pump as my pressure switch wasn't working and a rebuild wasn't much cheaper. Just yesterday replaced my vacuum side strainer which was sucking air into the system at pressure due to a failed seal, and added an accumulator on the pressure side. All is great now. Except water quality, but that's a separate issue :(

Did you leave water in the hot water tank? I noticed when i did this the water was so putrid it took multiple flushes to get it out.

When? Over winter? No, I drained it.... then ran RV antifreeze through it. This year I'm adding in a HW heater bypass so I don't have to buy so much antifreeze.

I've been doing a bleach sanitise every few weeks this summer... filling the tank up about 1/2 way, adding in a cup or 2 of bleach... running the taps until I can smell bleach... going for a spin to splash things around the tank, then opening all taps and filling/flushing until the bleach smell is mostly gone. This gets rid of the smells for a while... but they come back. I can tell when the screen mesh in my pre-pump strainer starts to get gunked up with green goo that it's time to sanitise again. Annoying, but not sure what the solution is.

Anyway, kind of OT for this thread.

Have you changed out your fill and vent hoses for the tank? I had an issue with mold inside the hoses, so, when I filled the tank I was washing some into the tank either from the fill or vent. I replaced the lines, no more problems, happy Admiral.

My vent hose is pretty nasty looking. Not sure about the fill. I considered changing these out, but the fill hose in particular will be a right B*tch to change... access isn't brilliant. If I need to open everything up to get at the tank, might was well change the tank too I suppose...

If it aint broke dont fix it..

It still could be the hot water tank. If there is an easy way to bypass it maybe try that and see if it still is getting nasty. They get soo gross from the heat. I just took mine out, no need for it more room in my bilge
