Andreas,
greatlakesskipper.com has many OEM instruments for sale. They may have the Tach that you are looking for.

I think that "color" has been sun faded. Don't think you'll find it. I ran into a similar issue and ended up replacing them all. Might try to find a used one. Faira Kronos looks almost identical if that helps too

No they are sealed and pressed together at the factory, no way to easily take them apart. I wanted to do that too!

what are the existing tach symptoms? experience here on my boat with corroded switches, wires, leads, connectors.
surely you have tried another tach in its place and viceversa put this tach on something else..... just to be sure it is the tach and not the ground or power.

when you turn the ignition switch, does the needle jump slightly?
then check leads for 12V, and kind of wiggle the wires around.
if it is just dead... with no response on the needle and no response on the bench, then maybe damage occurred because the power to tach was interrupted while the engine was running. If you decide to just replace without checking the leads, you may damage the new gauge as well by having faulty leads.

Its cheaper and likely easier just to pop the dead tach out and replace it with a new one.

Bayliner uses Faria gauges with one exception, some smaller boats got VDO gauges for two years around the 2001 timeframe.

I would just go buy a new gauge.

Hi Andreas
Tach gauges can be rebuilt, I had a 1947 C/C and had the RPM and TACH gauges rebuilt here in Anacortes Wa. They came out looking new......Try looking in the back of antique boat magazines they do advertising them.
Good luck Brad
