I own my 47 foot slip and pay condo fees and property tax which all adds up to less than $1800 per year. I paid 15K ten years ago and they resell about 36K today
So my cost will now be about ZERO (if I ever decide to sell it that is)
7 month season includes electric, water and Wifi

Our community has a water front park with an excellent launch docks.
We pay $60 per year plus the maintenance cost of our 30 foot dock.
I pay an additional $300 per year for inside storage.
Of coarse we must have a trailerable boat.

My mistake, your fault

Mine is $7.25 a foot per month for an annual moorage at the River House Marina in Delta, BC. Concrete docks, includes water but electrical is extra.
About six miles out the Fraser River to the Strait of Georgia and the door step to the Gulf Islands.

In Oakland CA, the slip rent is $600 a month for a 50' slip. Electricity runs about $30 monthly. No more than 3 overnights allowed in a week. Live-aboard rent is about $950 a month. A monthly parking pass is $85. A one bedroom apartment in Oakland costs in the $2k monthly range. A two bedroom is about $3k.

I am in a nice marina with competent harbor master. Includes access to laundry room, toilets, showers. Lots of restaurants and public transportation nearby.

San Francisco Bay restricts live-aboard slips to 10% or less of Marina capacity. So live-abord slips are scarce. The rumor is that no Marina has live-aboard available anywhere in San Francisco Bay. In fact 40'+ slips are very scarce even without live-aboard. Most marina's have a long waiting list.

When I was shopping for my 47 I was unable to locate an available slip in Oakland or San Francisco. My first choice Marina had a long waiting list. The harbor master informed me that if I bought a boat that was located in the Marina, I would be eligible to assume the slip rental. Luckily I spotted a 47 in the Marina and contacted the owner to inquire if they would sell. Two years later they called and sold me thier boat. It is a 2001 and has been in the same slip since new. The boat is in good shape and I am very happy with the outcome. So, patience finally paid off. I am now on the live-aboard waiting list.

I have no slip fees but of course I have no slip either.
When we launch, we leave as our marina is a storage only marina.
We leave for Canadian waters as soon as the weather permits and live at anchor the entire season.
There is a perfect anchorage near our marina called Harbor Island. Narrow entrance with an oval shaped harbor surrounded by high bank woods.
That is our first stop and our last when we return. A good place to get the boat prepared for heated winter storage and wait for a haul out date.
Here is a link to Harbor island. Its as close to a slip as it gets for us.
There is an aerial view of the island in one of the pics. www.drummondislandchamber.com/index.php?page=Harbor_Island_NWR

For my 2855 I pay $780 from April 1st-Oct31st. A great bargain for a boat this size..normally a dock around my way would go for around $3000.
It is a municipal dock..has no services except water...no electric, gas, pump out...etc. Just a parking lot and boat slips. There is a marina less then 1/4 mile away.

We are in Port Moody, BC, Canada.

We have our 38 in a 54 foot uncovered slip, so lots of room.

Our moorage is around $8,000.00 per year and about $100.00 a month for electricity.

I have a 40 foot covered slip in the City of Antioch Marina, California. Cost is $290 a month, free water and about $15 a month for electricity. The kicker is I can go fishing every day of the year, and being on the edge of the California Delta Water System, have many species to fish for. Life is good.

The slip for my 2352 Trophy runs me $44.00 a month including electricity and water in a private & gated yacht club.
The slip for my Sea Ray 330 Express runs me $265 a month with water, but plus electricity.
Both locations have security cameras and 24/7/365 security.
Both locations are in Antioch, CA in the heart of the California Delta.

:( I would expect to pay $21.00 a foot in San Diego Bay. I gripe about having to trailer but the savings is huge. I put the money into the vacation fund instead.

We paid $4200 a year (12 months) for a forty foot slip plus a minimum of $15 a month for electric. It's a full service marina with gas docks and showers. The marina is very well maintained.. The owner just completely rebuilt the docks and added more.

We were located on the Chesapeake Bay at Rhode River marina in Annapolis MD.

Now we keep the boat at our dock on the Little Choptank River in Cambridge MD.

I can't decide if the slip cost $550,000.00 and came with a free house...or....the other way around. :silly:

Regardless, having the boat at our house has saved us about two thirds of the cost of ownership. Not having to drive an hour and a half to get to it is also a plus.
